When Holly reached the Winter Palace
It took
Her breath
Away
The palace glistened in the light
And it sang to the breeze
The towers of ice reached high into the air
And pointed to the stars as they started to appear
The sun was low
And where the light
Caught the palace
It split into colour
Like a frozen rainbow

But as she looked
She noticed rivers running down the walls
Where the palace was melting

The door was open
And Holly suddenly felt uneasy
The horizon line
In the light of dusk
Looked smudged with red
And queasy
